Here is a really nice guitar synth setup using the Analogue Systems rs35 module along with 5 other AS modules. The rs35 module does a remarkable job of turning the guitar's pitch into CV (control-voltage). There is no MIDI involved in this setup. The rs35 module is a frequency (or pitch) to voltage converter. It can turn virtually any sound source into "1 volts per octave" allowing you to control an analog synthesizer. Roger Cordell plays a Strat, first into a Barber Electronics TonePress compressor pedal for improved sustain. The output of the TonePress goes to the low pass filter section of the AS rs110 Multimode filter, which rolls off the higher frequencies. This improves the tracking of the rs35. From there we run the audio into the rs35 'Frequency In'. The rs35's voltage out goes to the rs95 voltage controlled oscillator. We're using various modules to alter the oscillator sound including the rs100 Low Pass filter, the rs120 Comb Filter, and the rs290 voltage controlled digital delay/sampler. Finally, here is a practical, fairly easy way to play your analog synthesizer with a guitar. Rad!

Two-Channel Insulated Driver Model ADUM3220 with Output Current of up to 4A ADuM3220ARZ is an insulated two-channel driver with an output current of 4 Amperes. It is based on iCoupler technology developed by Analog Devices Corporation. The driver combines a high-speed CMOS logic with monolithic transformers. It is much more effective than any alternative solutions, for instance, combinations of pulse transformers with buffer cells. ADuM3220 has two independent insulated channels. It differs from the drivers that coordinate high-level signals. ADuM3220 offers a real galvanic isolation between the input and each of the outputs. This allows transmitting the signal through a barrier insulant. The output of ADuM3220 has a through current protection. The driver also has a low level of active output signal. Both features are typical for power applications. The microcircuit works at input signal levels ranging from 3.0 to 5.5 Volts. Thus, it is compatible with low-voltage systems. The output stage works at voltages from 5 to 18 Volts. This is necessary for the synchronous AC/DC converters.
